Angela Sierra. General Director

Angela Sierra holds a diploma in social communication and journalism from Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá which is located in Bogotá, Colombia, as well as a diploma in cinematographic studies from the la Universidad de Aix-en-Provence en Francia

 

She has worked in audio-visual production for state affairs for TVA, as well as in specialized programming for Channel Vox and Channel Evasion. Since 1993 she has been involved in the production of cultural events and she worked for the Cannes Film Festival (France) and the documentary cinema festival Vue sur les docs in Marseilles (France).  .

Angela has been a volunteer for Radio Centre-ville and in cultural promotion activities for the Consulate General of Colombia in Montreal; she has also participated hosted organized by the Association of Colombian Professionals of Quebec. She was part of the administrative board of the Ballet Raíces de Colombia and was one of the founding members of the Association Colombia Invites in Montreal.

Over the years, she has acquired solid experience in the management of companies and human resources. She has also been regional director of a company specializing in the temporary hiring of personnel: 300 employees  of SPI-Colombia were under her charge. In addition, she served as director of the marketing and communications department of the hotel La Sierra (Colombia) and was in charge of the Hotel Association of Colombia (COTELCO Magdalena chapter), which includes twelve of the most important hotels of the city. At the moment she is directing LatinArte, the only organization in Montreal that promotes artistic activities of Latin American origin. Angela has never given up her passion for journalism and maintains her contracts as an independent journalist working with several means of communication.
